This compelling story follows 14-year-old Frances Ayee, the daughter of Pastor George Ayee, who is thrust into a whirlwind of chaos when her seemingly perfect life crumbles after she is viciously sexually assaulted at gunpoint. All her hopes and dreams collapse into chaos as her family quickly sends her away to avoid public ridicule and embarrassment within their church community. After giving birth to her son, Julius, Frances is exiled to Toronto, Ontario, to live with her Aunt Beverley.

"The Other Side" Rastaman Vibrations
The Other Side, Rastaman Vibrations depicts the turbulence of Jamaican life in the 1960s-early '70s through the passions and spiritual hunger of a young Jamaican man, Julius. Against a backdrop of the Diaspora and simmering civil unrest, Julius wrestles with love, truth, and life. From the main character, Rasta, what he learns surpasses human desire as he comes to a keen understanding of the hidden purpose of his own destiny.
